Welcome Home, Sister.
If you found your way here, I'm guessing you might be a little bit like me: you love the Lord and you love your community, but you're tired. Maybe even "tired of being tired." You're pouring out from an empty cup, trying to save our babies from the tragic loss of life on these Chicago streets, and wondering—who's going to pour back into me?
Here at ACLC Women in Ministry Chicago, we're about getting your fire back.
We believe that to heal our families, we must understand the fullness of our Creator. God isn't just a Father—God is also our Mother who nurtures, restores, and comforts us. Just as a mother will not forget the baby at her breast, God does not forget us.
Now, don't get me wrong—we need our men, and they need us. A bird cannot fly with only one wing. We love and honor the Fathers and Brothers who work alongside us to parent our community.
But there is a specific calling on your life that the world is desperate for. We are called to be the "Mothers of the Community and the Church." Whether you're ordained clergy or a "lifeguard" on the block watching out for the youth—you are a minister. The community is hurting, and it needs a mother's touch to heal.
We're done with the jealousy and competition. None of us are so strong that we know it all on our own. It's time to sit down at the Kitchen Table, pass down our wisdom to the young people, and rebuild our neighborhoods with love.
Come receive your crown, sister. Let's walk together.
As a committee of the National American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), ACLC Women In Ministry reflects the heart of God by working in unity to rebuild the family, restore the community, and renew the nation and the world.
